January's Shabbat services at Congregation Hugat Haverim celebrated the dedication of our new songbook, honoring the life of Elizabeth Hermanson Rosenblum. Liz loved music and her family honors us by their support and love for this project. Many people contributed financially to the Liz Rosenblum Songbook fund to make this possible. Also, we thank Susan Kindelt, Mata Plumb (posthumously), Andrea Norett, Byron Burros and Cantor Harv for their contributions in putting the songbook together in its first form.

We had a large attendance, ca. 40, with Jose Grijalva leading us in prayer, Cantor Harv's beautiful voice leading us in song, with Art Berg presenting a interesting drash (parashat Bo) on the morality of God's punishment(the plagues) of the Egyptians for Pharoah's incalcitrance in letting the Hebrews leave Egypt for the promised land.
